Course Overview

In a world shaped by rapid change, complexity, and interconnected challenges, the ability to create scalable, human-centered solutions is now a vital leadership skill. Designing Scalable Solutions: Driving High-Impact Innovation, offered by MIT Professional Education, empowers professionals to develop and implement transformative ideas that create lasting impact across industries.

Despite 84% of executives identifying innovation as a growth driver, only 6% are satisfied with their performance (McKinsey). This program addresses that gap—helping leaders move from ideas to execution, and from isolated wins to scalable success. Participants gain a practical roadmap they can apply immediately in their organizations.

Over nine weeks, participants will engage with a robust design methodology that blends stakeholder analysis, systems thinking, business modeling, and storytelling. The curriculum also incorporates hands-on experience with AI tools that support ideation, rapid prototyping, and decision-making—reflecting how top innovation teams work today.

Led by MIT faculty Prof. Svafa Grönfeldt and Prof. Gilad Rosenzweig, the program takes a project-based, real-world approach to learning. Whether you're leading a startup, driving innovation in a large organization, or spearheading a civic initiative, this program equips you with the mindset, frameworks, and tools to scale innovation for meaningful change.

Testimonials

This class was very interesting to me because it forced me to look at products, not only their value to the organization, but the efficiency of that product from a lot of different angles. You can look at it from all the angles taught in the class, or you can look at it from a grouping of those angles. And for me it was a highly valuable. It's much more than just the product lines that we have today in our organization.
