But AI pilots also fail when companies lack enterprise vision, says Dr. Abel Sanchez, Research Scientist at MIT. Ultimately, he explains, it comes down to questions such as: Do you have a vision? Can you align your technologies? Are you ready for change management and how it may change company culture? Do you have governance?

Professor John Williams, Professor of Information Engineering at MIT, expanded by saying: “You know, everyone's worried about this MIT study that said there were all these failures. As far as most projects go, I think those numbers are to be expected. To actually deploy something and make it a scalable product, you've got to be posing the right questions.”
