A dream years in the making, studying at MIT became a reality for Denmark native Casey Meng
A biological engineering student, she designed a personalized course of study during her semester on campus—taking graduate-level classes that complemented her studies back home while opening the doors to new academic interests. But her ASP experience extended well beyond the classroom, as she built friendships with peers from around the world, engaged in extracurricular activities, and explored all that Cambridge and Greater Boston have to offer.

Regina Barzilay
Regina Barzilay is a School of Engineering Distinguished Professor of AI & Health in the Department of Computer Science and the AI Faculty Lead at MIT Jameel Clinic. She develops machine learning methods for drug discovery and clinical AI. In the past, she worked on natural language processing. Her research has been recognized with the MacArthur Fellowship, an NSF Career Award, and the AAAI Squirrel AI Award for Artificial Intelligence for the Benefit of Humanity. Regina is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the National Academy of Medicine. Join her new short course, Transforming Healthcare with AI: Strategy, Implementation, and Clinical Impact, taking place on January 14–15, 2027, on MIT’s campus.
